- Frequency: Ideally both 900MHz and 2100MHz, to take advantage of the Optus Dual Band network, although most metro areas are covered by 2100MHz.
- Network Unlocked: If you're locked to another network, you'll need to contact your previous service provider to unlock it.
- SIM card slot: So you can plug in our Commander Wireless Broadband SIM card.

Things you need to know:
1. Service delivered via the Optus 3G/HSDPA GSM network, subject to network availability. Customers can expect broadband speeds between 512 kbps and 1.5 Mbps in 3G areas, peaking at 3.6 Mbps, and non broadband speeds in GSM only coverage areas. Actual speeds will vary in different network coverage areas.
2. Both upload and download data is counted towards the total monthly usage. Excess usage beyond your included value will be charged at 10c/Mb. Excess usage is capped at $99 per month. If you reach the excess usage cap of $99 your service will be suspended until the first day of the following month. Usage can be tracked online via MyCommander. 3. Bundled refers to any other fixed line or mobile service listed on the same account.
4. If you choose to use your own Mobile Broadband data device (BYO) to access the service, the operation of the device, and any repairs to it, is your responsibility. If you choose to connect to the service using your own modem, Commander may not be able to provide you technical support for that particular modem and reserves the right to refer you to the modem manufacturer for technical assistance at your own expense.
