COMMANDER ANNOUNCES NEW RECRUITMENT STRATEGY

On 27 June 2008, Commander Communications Limited (ASX: CDR) announced revised plans for its Affinity IT Recruitment subsidiary and internal recruitment services.

Commander had previously announced its intent to divest the Affinity IT Recruitment business. After extensive discussions with external parties, Commander has been unable to conclude a suitable transaction.

Management has now completed a full review of the operations of Affinity IT Recruitment, a key element of which is the provision of recruitment services to the Commander business. It has become clear that this activity can be more cost effectively managed within the HR function of Commander than in a separately managed subsidiary.

Commander will no longer seek to divest the Affinity business as an ongoing operation. Instead, certain recruitment professionals from Affinity will be appointed to new roles within Commander, with the aim of delivering significant cost savings to the business.

Affinity IT Recruitment will cease to provide services to external clients. However, it will finalise current candidate selections and will continue to manage its existing contractor base until the expiry of contracts. Affinity will also honour all guarantees on employed candidates.
